TOBY
TOBY
Toby is Shoehorn’s low-end provider. A master of the mighty bass. A groove machine. A sonic architect.

The crowd feels it before they see it Laying down basslines thicker than Yorkshire gravy and heavier than a doom-laden Sunday roast.

With fingers that dance across the strings like a caffeinated spider and stage presence that could make lesser men weep, Toby is the engine room, the backbone, the very pulse of Shoehorn.

He sleeps inside a flight case and drinks pints of melted speaker cones.

Other projects: Toby is also a part of Bury band HWAMP.

JACK
JACK
Jack is Shoehorn’s riff-slinging renegade.

He strikes chords that hit like a sledgehammer and shimmer like sunlight on broken glass. From jangly hooks to driving grooves, Jack’s six-string sorcery adds the grit, the swagger, and the soul to Shoehorn’s sound.

When he’s not tearing up the fretboard, he’s harmonising like a fallen angel and drinking pints of reverb straight from the tap. Jack doesn’t play guitar – he is guitar.

Not only a fantastic guitarist but also a festival planner. Indeed a Jack of some trades.

If he was an apple he’d be a Granny Smith.

JAKE
JAKE
The king of crumble himself. Usually found lurking behind a mountain of drums, Jake is Shoehorn’s resident groove architect. Armed with sticks in both hands and an uncanny ability to hit things in perfect time, he lays down the rhythmic foundation that keeps the rest of the band in check—whether they like it or not.

Equally comfortable behind an acoustic or electronic kit, Jake’s drumming is equal parts precision and chaos, like a metronome that occasionally goes rogue. He also lends his vocal cords to the cause, proving that multitasking is indeed possible just not always advisable.

Other projects:
Jake plays bass with Sam Biggs and is also a part of Kali Jovannah’s backing band.

HARRY
HARRY
Harry is Shoehorn’s rock ‘n’ roll messiah. A six-string preacher.

With an SG slung over his fragile body and a voice that could make the devil weep, Harry prowls the stage like he owns it – because he does. Born to lead. Built to shred.

Plays every string all the time. Just recently he decided to spend £65 on a skateboard. It’s now a year since he bought it, and none of us have seen him ride it.

Other projects: Harry alongside Jake is a part of Kali Jovanah’s backing band.

ETHAN
ETHAN
Mr fit. Ethan is Shoehorn’s sonic sorcerer.

From celestial keys to brooding brass, Ethan’s hands glide across the ivory with effortless grace, crafting soundscapes that hit you right in the feels. And when the tambourine comes out?

It’s game over.

He also makes a delightful fruits of the forest pie.

Our Story So Far…

Ah, yes! Step right up, intrepid traveller, and allow me to regale you with the tale of Shoehorn — forged in the hallowed corridors of Woodhey High School, circa 2022. A band of brothers bound not by blood, but by blistering riffs and a shared devotion to the almighty groove. However, two of them are indeed brothers.

From humble beginnings, strumming in the dusty corners of the classroom, to striding triumphantly onto the stage of Manchester Academy 2 — where they seized victory in the legendary Battle of the Bands, March 2024. A moment so electric, it sent shockwaves through the very fabric of the local music scene!

Their sound? A heady cocktail of indie rock, shaken with the sultry swagger of blues and the soulful sigh of something… deeper. The airwaves tremble as local and national stations alike spin their tunes, and festival stages beckon them forth with open arms.

But this, my dear friends, is merely the overture. For Shoehorn stands on the precipice of something far greater. The future is unwritten, the stage is set, and the world… well, the world had better be ready.
